2023 Liebling Cabernet Franc

OPPENLAENDER VINEYARD, FOUR MILE CREEK, NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE

It was very important for Jess and Ali to source grapes from their family's home vineyard in Niagara-on-the-Lake. This small parcel of land has been their family’s home for twenty years and has been the backdrop of many family celebrations. The 2023 Cabernet Franc was harvested on November 16th, 2023, the grapes were then lightly crushed and fermented in bins. Punchdowns were carried out daily until pressing, after spending three weeks in contact with the grape skins and seeds. The wine was aged for 20 months in a mix of new and used French oak barrels (four barrels) before blending and bottling. This is a medium-bodied Cabernet Franc with notes of raspberry, cherry, vanilla, and pepper.
